Common vaccine questions

What types of vaccines are available?
Moderna and Pfizer are available at the CCBH clinics. Please contact the provider at non-CCBH clinics for more information.

What are the ingredients in each vaccine?

What type of vaccine should I get?
Please contact your medical provider for advice about which vaccine is best for you based on your health condition.

You must receive the same type of vaccine for your first and second doses, meaning they both have to be Moderna or they both have to be Pfizer. You cannot mix different types of vaccines.

For your booster doses, you do not have to get the same type of vaccine as you did for your primary doses.

How long do I have to wait between doses?
Moderna requires at least 28 days/four weeks between your first and second dose. Pfizer requires a minimum of 21 days/three weeks. If you have to wait a few weeks longer to get your second dose, you will still be fully protected.

What side effects might I have?
Some people have none. Most have slight body aches or fatigue and soreness at the point of injection. Others experience body aches, chills, a low-grade fever and fatigue. A long nap or overnight sleep is typically the best way to deal with any issues.

When can I get my booster dose?
Moderna – Five months after your second dose of the two-dose series
Pfizer – Five months after your second dose of the two-dose series

Who do I call with questions?
Please contact us Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 216.201.2041.

*Please remember to bring your vaccine card with you for your second dose appointment and your booster dose.
