On November 7, 2006, the majority of Ohio voters (58.3%) voted to protect all of its citizens from the dangers of exposure to secondhand smoke. To meet the requirements of the smoking ban, a proprietor is essentially required to implement a three-phased approach in their establishment - prohibit smoking, remove all ashtrays, and post "No Smoking" signs with the toll-free enforcement number - 1-866-559-OHIO (6446).
To obtain additional information, a copy of the Law and Rules, or to print a "No Smoking" poster, visit the Ohio Department of Health's website.
