CCBH sanitarians conduct inspections of over 330 schools twice per year. During these inspections, our staff identify health and safety conditions that may pose a threat to students and staff.
Focal points of school inspections include air quality, chemical handling, pest control, playground safety, disease prevention, food handling, and fire and electrical safety. Food service operations and swimming pools in schools are routinely inspected during the school year.
Sanitarians also respond to nuisance complaints and public health concerns on school properties throughout the year.
CCBH staff communicate regularly with school administrators to discuss any matters regarding health related concerns in school buildings, on playgrounds, etc.
