Ohio Child Care Resource & Referral Association (OCCRRA) Nursing
Services
Under Healthy Child Care Ohio, Public Health Nurses provide free healthcare
consultation and training to child care centers and family child care homes in Cuyahoga, Lorain,
Astabula, Lake, and Geauga Counties. The program gives providers access to Registered Nurses
trained to answer health and safety questions. Consultations are available over the phone or
at the center during daytime hours such as nap time.
The center receives free in-service hours for training. Training sessions are
usually one hour.

The program does not provide child-specific training. Centers with
children in Cuyahoga County with children with special needs are eligible for child specific
training.
