Performance Goals

Our performance goals are designed to position the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to most effectively serve our communities in the years to come. We recognize that the landscape of public health is quickly changing.  To that end, our performance goals reflect a new focus on developing evidence and/or research based programming opportunities that address emerging public health issues in conjunction with our academic partners.

In 2004, as new performance standards were approved by a concurrent resolution of the Ohio General Assembly, the Cuyahoga County Board of Health embarked on a journey to develop organizational performance goals and objectives.  These standards in Ohio, known as Local Health District Improvement Standards detailed 6 priority goals.  In preparation for the State and National Voluntary Accreditation our process has grown to more closely mirror the National Public Health Performance Standards based on the Ten Essential Services.  We recognize that this step towards quality improvement is important as we continue in building capacity to meet the evolving public health needs of our communities and ultimately work to improve heath status.
