Help Me Grow home visiting services

Help Me Grow provides services to pregnant women and children under the age of 3 at risk of or with developmental delays. Services are provided for free.  The Cuyahoga County Board of Health Nursing Services is one of a number of agencies in the county that provide Help Me Grow services.

Early Intervention

Early Intervention provides specialized services to support children birth to three who have a developmental delay or diagnosed disability and their families. Public Health Nurses focus their expertise on the tiniest babies in Cuyahoga County, micro-preemies born under 1,000 grams. They work closely with the family and an interdisciplinary team to help the family in meeting the goals they have identified for their child. Public Health Nurses provide service coordination and make home visits. They are able to identify and connect families to medical providers, developmental specialists and other community resources as well as provide the support and advocacy that a family may need if their child has special health and developmental needs.

Ongoing Home Visiting (formerly known as Early Start)

The Help Me Grow ongoing home visiting program helps to promote the well being of children who are at risk for developmental delay and their families.  Public Health Nurses serve children and their families by providing home visits, service coordination, health and developmental screening, parent education, referral for immunizations, lead screening and other needed medical care, as well as linkages to community resources.
