Childcare Special Health Needs Training

The Cuyahoga County Board of Health Nursing Services offer programs for childcare providers caring for children with special medical needs. 

Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA)

The program offers general training on a variety of issues in childcare centers and family childcare homes in Astabula, Cuyahoga, Geagua, Lake, and Lorain counties.  Typical topics include asthma, seizures, allergies, Shaken Baby Syndrome, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).  The program offers free in-service contact hours for childcare providers.  Click here for more information about the OCCRRA program.

Starting Point Special Needs Childcare Program

The Starting Point program offers child specific training in Cuyahoga County.  Public Health Nurses develop care plans for children with diagnosed needs.  The program offers free in-service hours for childcare providers.  Click here for more information about the Starting Point Program.
