Child Care Provider TrainingThe Cuyahoga County Board of Health offers childcare providers required classes for state licensing. Available courses include Child Abuse, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Communicable Disease, and CPR. For state licensure, one person on staff must be trained in all courses. All courses must be repeated every 3 years except CPR. CPR certification is for 2 years. Childcare providers taking Child Abuse, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Communicable Disease classes for the first time must take the 6 hour course. Childcare providers repeating the courses can take the 3 hour refresher courses. All classes are taught by Public Health Nurses at the CCBH Parma location or on-site at the childcare facility. Each participant receives a resource manual with information about communicable diseases, prevention, and disinfection. PricingThree hour course $40/person Six hour course $50/person CPRAmerican Heart Association CPR certification is for 2 years. Childcare Providers can attend classes at the CCBH Parma location. Classes can be set-up on-site at the childcare facility with a minimum of 5 participants and an on-site of $50. The cost of the class is $50 per person and includes the CPR manual and CD.
