The Cuyahoga County Board of Health Welcomes Lakewood to the General Health DistrictMay 20, 2008Target Segment:
On May 1st the City of Lakewood contracted with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to provide public health services for their citizens. Lakewood is the now the 36th city in Cuyahoga County to join the health district, along with the 21 villages and townships that we currently serve. Lakewood has a long and proud tradition of providing quality public health services to its residents through the Division of Health in the Department of Human Services. We will work hard to maintain and expand the level of service that residents have come to expect. We would like to thank Lakewood Mayor Edward Fitzgerald, members of Lakewood City Council and the Director of Human Services, Dottie Buckon, for their leadership during this transition. CCBH now has the distinct privilege of serving over 885,000 Greater Cleveland residents; making us the largest health district in the State of Ohio. We would like to extend a warm welcome to the elected officials, city administration members, businesses and citizens of the City of Lakewood. We hope to develop a long and productive partnership in serving the public health needs of their community. |
