May is Asthma Control MonthMay 9, 2008Target Segment:
May is Asthma Awareness Month! Throughout the month of May the American Lung Association and the US EPA will be trying to raise awareness of this serious health problem. Millions of Americans of all ages and races are affected by this chronic airway disorder that, when uncontrolled, can place severe limits on daily life. There is no cure for asthma; however, it can be controlled through medical treatment and management of environmental triggers. Triggers may be both indoor and outdoor, and you may be surprised by the how common these environmental asthma triggers (http://www.epa.gov/asthma/triggers.html) are, and how easy they can be to eliminate. This month take part in Asthma Awareness Month by participating in the American Lung Association of Ohio’s Asthma Walk (http://www.ohiolung.org/events.htm). The event will be held on May 31 at Cleveland Browns Stadium. There are several other walks around the state as well. For further information on asthma and its control, talk to your doctor or visit:
