SENATOR HARKIN VISITS SCHOOL TO HEAR ABOUT HEALTHY CHANGES

Iowa Senator Tom Harkin visited Oak Street Middle School in October to see the Healthy Schools Program in action. In April, then seventh-grader Katie Milani, sixth-grader Julian Swayzer and life skills teacher Betsy DeBower visited Washington, D.C., with groups from 24 other schools nationwide to discuss wellness and nutrition with members of Congress. During their visit, the Oak Street delegation invited lawmakers to visit their school to see how they have increased activity and improved nutrition. More>>
