Our direct cost of $3.60 per capita is among the lowest in the State of Ohio. Given the range of
grant awards that CCBH received in 2006 to augment the activities funded by these direct dollars,
CCBH was able to provide an additional $13.90 in per capita services to our health district, at no
additional cost. This amounts to a total per capita benefit of $17.50 in services to the
communities (link to A-Z Services) we serve.
Our performance goals were designed to position the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to most
effectively serve our communities over the next decade. To that end, our performance goals reflect
a new focus on developing evidence and/or research based programming opportunities that address
emerging public health issues in conjunction with our academic partners. Additionally, we have
substantially enhanced our grants management capacity to assist our staff and our subgrantees on
fiscal and programmatic issues to maximize the impact of grant funding for public health programs
as grant funding opportunities grow. We are committed to a progressive workforce training and
development model to assure that we are well prepared to meet new challenges. We are also currently
in the midst of designing a comprehensive marketing and website enhancement plan with the goal of
raising the collective awareness of our citizens about public health issues and decisions that can
make a difference in their daily lives. All of these activities are clearly and directly tied to
our Organizational Vision, to optimize the public health status of the community through
transformational programming that creates a clear line of sight between what we do every day and
how the organization performs.
